This group is designed to support children who may feel shy, have difficulty making friends, or struggle with social interactions. If you have specific concerns about whether the group is the right fit, I’d be happy to discuss your child’s needs and how we can support them.

Each session is designed to be engaging, supportive, and interactive. I use fun activities, discussions, and skill-building exercises to help kids and teens feel more confident in social situations and within themselves. The goal is to create a safe space where they can learn, grow, and connect with others.
-
To ensure that each group member gets personal attention while also benefiting from group interactions, I keep the group size small—typically between 4 to 8 participants. This allows for meaningful connections while making sure everyone feels heard and supported.
-
Group skills allows children and teens to practice skills in real time with peers in a supportive setting. While individual therapy is one-on-one and tailored to personal concerns, group skills help kids realize they’re not alone in their struggles. It also provides a unique opportunity to receive support and encouragement from others who may share similar experiences.
-
It’s completely normal to feel nervous about trying something new! I take extra care to create a warm, welcoming environment where kids feel comfortable. We go at a pace that feels safe for them, and they are never pressured to share more than they want to. Often, once they attend the first session, they start feeling more at ease.
-
Confidentiality is important to me, and essential for making a space feel safe and trustworthy. Every group member is required to sign an agreement to keep conversations from group time private. Group members are asked not to share names of others in the group or content from group discussion with people outside of the group. These rules are in place in order to create a safe environment in which people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences.
-
Parents get support as well while their child or teen is participating in group. For the social skills group, parents will receive resources and a short summary at the end of each group on ways to practice at home the skill/theme of the week.
