The Taylor Swift Eras Tour: A Healing Journey for the Mind and an Unforgettable Experience

Hey there, fellow Swifties! I had the privilege of attending the Eras Tour in Minneapolis this past weekend, and if you know Taylor Swift, you probably understand how her music can be a lifeline in our chaotic lives. These are just some thoughts and reflections on this concert from a therapist’s perspective and how Taylor’s music (and any form of music!) can be supportive for mental health and a positive outlet in a number of different ways! Enjoy some of my photo memories too :)

1. The Magic of Music Therapy:

We all know that music has this incredible power to make us feel better, right? Taylor Swift's songs go beyond just catchy tunes. They have deep lyrics that speak to our hearts and souls. Attending the Eras Tour concert becomes an emotional release for us. Singing along to our favorite anthems like "Shake It Off" or getting lost in the feels of heart-wrenching ballads like "All Too Well" helps us let go of our struggles and find solace in the music.

2. Finding Our Tribe:

Being a part of the Taylor Swift fandom is like having an instant support system. When we are surrounded by people who share the same love and passion for Taylor's music, it's an amazing feeling to connect with like-minded individuals who truly understand the power of her songs. Exchanging those friendship bracelets really solidifies that feeling!

3. Embracing Our Inner Strength:

Taylor Swift is a powerhouse on stage. The facts that she does that performance two nights in a row is a feat not to be messed with, and you can feel the joy, strength, and passion she exudes on stage. She sings about her own struggles and growth, inspiring us to face our own challenges head-on. The uplifting atmosphere and Taylor's infectious energy encourage us to embrace our uniqueness and celebrate our accomplishments.

I was very excited to be in seat 13!

4. Escaping into Pure Joy:

Life can throw curveballs sometimes. Whether it’s school, relationships, and the pressure to fit in can feel overwhelming at times. This concert was a way to escape all of that for a while. The concert becomes a haven of lights, music, and sheer happiness. The excitement and energy in was unbeatable! This experience will stay with me, and remind me, and others who find their own fun-loving outlets, of the joy that can be found even in the midst of life's challenges.

So, fellow Swifties, the Taylor Swift Eras Tour is not just a concert; it's an incredible journey of healing and self-discovery. Through the magic of experiencing amazing music, connecting with others, embracing our inner strength, and escaping into pure joy, attending the concert was an unforgettable experience that through a therapist’s lens, can be so healing for so many people. Like Taylor says, “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and chase it, you’ve got no reason to be afraid.” But, we really aren’t “on our own” when we have each other <3
